A bursary designed to help Manitoban artists gain access to Creative Manitoba workshops, programs or coaching sessions where cost may be a barrier.
We are committed to creating equitable, safe, and welcoming spaces that fully represent our diverse and intersectional membership and their needs, including the acknowledgement of various systems of power at play and how those affect our communities.
Please complete the application form as best as you are able. All complete forms will be reviewed and you will be emailed your results.
If you have any questions regarding this program or the application process, please contact: indigenous@creativemanitoba.ca
All bursary recipients are given a one year membership to Creative Manitoba and a special promo code which they may use to register and attend the workshop(s) or coaching session(s) of their choice. Bursaries are valued at up to $300 to subsidize these costs.
Creative Manitoba programs requiring a separate application/jury process (e.g. Art of Managing Your Career) may be paid for with this bursary, providing that the individual meets all application requirements and is accepted into the program. Approval of the bursary does not guarantee that the applicant will be accepted into the program.
When filling out the application form, please tell us a little about yourself and your arts practice! Not only does it help us determine if this bursary is suited to you, it will also help us plan future programming that better serves all artists in Manitoba.
If you would feel more comfortable speaking to someone, instead of filling out a form, please contact our programs coordinators to set up a phone call or Zoom meeting to talk about your application.
While applications are considered on a “first come, first served” basis, if for whatever reason you do not receive a bursary, we encourage you to apply again in the future.

Creative Manitoba is located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the National homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge and pay respect to the ancestors and treaties made on these lands, by considering all our cultures, traditions, and the histories of colonialism, dispossession, and resistance as we create and learn together. We would also like to acknowledge that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.
