Workshops and programming for and by Indigenous cultural workers, artists and art enthusiasts.
We aim to create equitable, safe and welcoming spaces that fully represent our diverse and intersectional membership and their needs, and acknowledge the various systems of power at play and how those affect our communities.
We work with Indigenous artists of all disciplines – contemporary, traditional, and/or both, and offer networking, educational, and hands-on experiences that promote Indigenous arts and support artists at every level.
All facilitators employ a mentorship approach from an Indigenous perspective that fosters art and cultural/professional development while empowering, supporting and engaging our communities.
Workshops on the business side of art from an Indigenous perspective and providing insight into the professional world and work of Indigenous artists and galleries.
Inclusive workshops to learn how to respectfully incorporate Indigenous perspectives and protocols into art and education practices.
A gathering of community-engaged Indigenous artists and arts leaders examining the importance of our Indigenous voices in the art and media world.

Creative Manitoba is located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and the National homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge and pay respect to the ancestors and treaties made on these lands, by considering all our cultures, traditions, and the histories of colonialism, dispossession, and resistance as we create and learn together. We would also like to acknowledge that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.
